Nobu Hotel Los Cabos

A 10/10 experience. This vacation was one for the books. With beautiful grounds and exceptional service, my Mom and I were truly able to relax and enjoy our first time at Nobu in Los Cabos, Mexico for a girls trip!

Before arriving at the airport, we found transportation through the hotel. We booked this service a few days in advance so they were aware of our flight times. There were two options: to be driven in a comfortable van for multiple guests or an SUV that can hold about 4-5. On the way there, we were driven in an SUV and then a van on the way back. Both were a great ride and the drivers were very welcoming. We saw amazing views of the desert on the way there and the ocean on the way back!

Reaching the hotel, we were immediately gifted with cleansing towels for our face and hands and cold lemonades from the friendly staff. Then, we were led into the lobby which is essentially both indoors and outdoors. Nobu consists of a fresh, clean, and modern look and holds a few rock-like statues in the entrance. There’s a coffee shop just to the right as you walk in that serves a variety of drinks, pasties, small lunches, and other items. The sweet smiles from the daily staff was constantly a delight every morning. Outside, with a stunning sight of the ocean, we were given an overview of the hotel grounds and restaurants Nobu has to offer. Quickly after, we met our personal Local Ambassador. With their help, we booked all of our restaurant or spa reservations through them and they were on call at all times for any other necessary assistance.

Our hotel room was one of a kind. With many wooden accents and unique, desert landscaping right outside, we were put into another world. The sliding doors came with remote controllable curtains that allowed us to open the blinds from the other side of the room! It definitely made opening the blinds in the morning much more fun! Our TV had live options as well as Google Chromecast – I was able to connect my phone to the TV and play music using Spotify or watch my favorite shows on Netflix. Every night, my Mom and I binged season 5 episodes of Selling Sunset! We couldn’t get enough! Further, the room came with a personal tote bag that you are allowed to use throughout your stay and is available for purchase at the resort store. This made it quite easy for us to keep all of our pool/beach belongings together!

As I am quite the foodie, I can confidently say that the restaurants were all around amazing. Ironically, the restaurant we went to everyday for breakfast was called… The Restaurant! Original right?! Haha. Let me just say, their breakfast sandwich (Everything bagel, with bacon, egg, and cheese) was extremely good. On Taco Tuesday, I tried the scrambled egg tacos and it was delicious! Fun fact: The Restaurant was previously another location of Malibu Farm. There were only a few changes to the menu before switching, but it still kept the healthy aspect to all of their meal options. It was a great place to start off the day as my Mom and I were consistently left smiling from the yummy food and kind people.

Another fan favorite is, of course, Nobu. Known for their tasty Japanese cuisine, this restaurant has been on my bucket list for quite some time and I was thrilled to finally try it! And let me tell you… it’s worth the hype. Walking to our table, we were welcomed by lovely waiters/waitresses and were sat with a gorgeous view of the ocean. My Mom and I loved it so much, we went two days in a row! To be completely transparent, I’m a very picky eater and sushi isn’t my favorite. Crazy right?! However, this restaurant still met my needs and I had one of the best meals! I began with a cup of Miso soup and had Chicken Teriyaki as the main course. My Mom started with Edamame and, for those sushi lovers, she enjoyed the Shrimp Tempura and the Rock Shrimp Tempura. For dessert, we tried the original chocolate brownie (my personal favorite), as well as the Bento Box and Paris-bres. It is by far one of my Top 5 recommended restaurants!

On a more casual end, La Playa Bar is located right next to one of the main pools and was our quick access to chips and guacamole during the day. Their drink menu offered plenty of signature choices, but if you had a classic in mind, they will easily make that for you as well! The Daisy is one of their classics which was delicious and had a unique taste, although, we typically went with the traditional options: a strawberry margarita or piña colada!

Finally, the fourth place we loved was Ardea (An Italian steakhouse). With Italian being my go-to choice, I was excited to see what they offered. As an appetizer, we went for a charcuterie board with three cheese selections. It also featured some honey, strawberry jam, and multiple bread options. For an appetizer to the appetizer, we were first delighted with cheese based croissants, cherry dipped cheese lollipops, hummus, and seasoned crackers. As a main course, we split the Liguroi Rigatoni and Tomato Sauce and Fresh Burrata Pizza. On the other hand, this restaurant is mostly known for their array steak choices. I’ll need to go back and try it one day! An important aspect to highlight, with any restaurant that required a reservation, our wonderful Local Ambassador booked everything for us. This truly made the overall experience stress-free!

The pool scene was one like no other! With more than three pools to choose from, my Mom and I had trouble deciding which one to go to first! Eventually, we created a routine. Primarily, the pool we loved to kick start our day is next to La Playa Bar and had a DJ everyday! It was very fun as music never stopped playing and the drinks kept coming! There was another pool in front of this one with a swim-up bar to the right side and a jacuzzi in the center. This was perfect for windier days where we wanted to just sit in warm, comfortable water. Both of these pools also had great views of the ocean! A quick walk on the beach led you to the other side of the hotel where there were two more! At the very end of the hotel was the iconic (adult only) infinity pool. This will give you the best view of the beach and it is much more relaxing with there being no loud music. Following this idea, there is a “spa-like” pool on the same side that is surrounded with beautiful greenery. Again, there is no music and it truly feels like you’re in another location entirely. Plus, there are a few jacuzzis scattered around with more privacy if wanted. My mom and I would go to this pool towards the end of our day, before the sun went down, to set our mind at ease and be at peace.

Over the past year, I have become a big gym junkie. With that being said, it was important for me to stay on track with my exercise schedule and this hotel let me do just that. With a good size gym located in their spa (Escencia), I was able to do my typical cardio routine and floor workouts. There are multiple treadmills and spin bikes, a stairmaster, weights, and more! In addition, Nobu offers workout classes that range from HIIT to yoga which are taken on their outside deck. Also, just through a small highway, there are complementary water bottles (room temp or cold) and plenty of towels.

One thing that comes with a vacation like this are the exciting outfits! For this trip in particular, I mainly focused on my dinner looks and they were all from the same shop. Tiger Mist has very flattering choices that are perfect for tropical getaways. I felt extremely confident in every outfit, but the Harper Corset and Clem Pant really took me by surprise. It fit like a glove and the color popped very well with my fresh tan! The sweetheart neckline added a more girly aspect to the pant fit. I enjoyed the flared leg with the slit on the ankle as it provided a clean finish to the overall look. Next, the hot pink Chevie Top and Skirt set was a fan favorite. The tie-dye pattern was vibrant and fun and matched perfectly with the floral arrangements of the hotel 😉 Although, the straps on the shoulders did hurt a little as I was very burnt there haha! Other than that, this one is a keeper. And I know… none of these are neutral colors! With these looks, I definitely stepped out of my comfort zone, but don’t worry, I went back to my roots very fast. My last look was the white crochet Braxton Top and Skirt. It was perfect to wear on my last day as I was burnt to the nines and it was super easy to slip on. Simple sets are the best!

If you’re looking for a spot where you can relax and not worry about a single thing, Nobu Los Cabos is it! This is a place where it feels like time has truly stopped.

Met Gala 2021: My Top 3

After a long year without America’s most beloved fashion event, the Met Gala has finally arrived! On September 13th, 2021, the Met Gala took place in it’s typical location, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, in NYC. This year’s theme was: “In American: A Lexicon of Fashion.” Usually, the Met Gala is hosted on the first Monday of May, but with fashion month going on, there was extra pressure to see some breathtaking designs. Here I’m going to share my top three favorite looks from this year’s Gala and possibly hear what you guys think as well!

Beginning with Kendall Jenner, she has never missed a Met Gala look. This year, she wore a beautifully jewelled, sheer dress designed and created by Givenchy. This dress seemed to be dedicated/a remake of Audrey Hepburn’s version (also made by Givenchy) when she wore it in the movie, My Fair Lady. You can see many similarities between the two looks starting with the choker. Jenner’s neck was covered with silver beads that essentially tied this whole look together – I believe this part of the dress is what truly made it “head-to-toe.” Another feature that caught my eye was that the sleeve of her dress went all the way down to her fingertips. This allowed the jewels to lay on every part of her body, giving an illusion that this was her skin. When I saw this dress, I nearly screamed… I have never seen something so excellently constructed while also paying tribute to a favorite actress in our history.

Chance The Rapper hit a home run when following the assigned theme of this event. Wearing an inspired 90’s suit by Ralph Lauren, he brought back the cool and hip concept from Lauren’s Stadium collection back then. He wore a simple black suit, but made it into something eye-catching and familiar with the audience. The common accent of red allowed for interesting parts of the design to pop and draw attention, while also staying cohesive. Further, the red “3” trucker hat was very on brand for the rapper’s style – ties in both aspects of designer and the artist. Lauren was able to take details from the past and highlight them in a manner that intrigued the crowd, leaving them wanting another Stadium collection.

Last, but not least, is the one and only Jennifer Lopez. Also designed by Ralph Lauren was this incredible western-style dress featuring many accents that brought this look to life. For one, the chocolate-colored dress included beautiful beaded embroidery on the whole piece. It created different lines and shapes on dress that ultimately portrayed the classic western pattern, especially with the feather detailing on the bottom hem. However, the accessories built a story with the dress. The faux fur cover up, cowboy hat, long, dangling earrings, large leather choker, and round metal necklace with the matching bracelet brought everything and more to this look – as if, Lopez was the star of a movie. She left the Gala making western glamorous and the audience speechless.

OOTDs: Spring Break Edition

Last week, I went on a trip with some friends to Fort Lauderdale and Miami, Florida! It was one of the best weeks I’ve had in a long, long time – filled with laughs, great memories, and of course, many outfits…

My first look is definitely out of my comfort zone with it being bright orange, but I ended up loving the color! This mini, halter, neon dress is made with thick material that allows the bodycon to really take its form. It was purchased many years ago from Revolve, but a similar dress is the Claudia Mini Dress from Amanda Uprichard x Revolve. I paired this with my black Zara boots that are not visible in any of these pictures, but can be found in later outfits. As for accessories, I used my classic Stella McCartney bag, large gold hoops, and a neon orange mask from Private Stock Labs to go along with the dress. Since this is a halter top, I decided not to wear any necklaces to make sure the neckline is the main focus!

I wore this all black look to a fun dinner with friends out on the town. Sadly, I’m borrowing this top from one of them, so I don’t know where it’s from… a similar one is the Black Open Back Rib Crop Top from Pretty Little Thing! The Wilfred Melina Pant from Aritzia is vegan leather, straight legged, and cropped. With it being a stretchy material, it remains a comfy fit while hugging you very nicely and it has just the right length for heels or low sneakers. For the shoes, these are a round, open toe stiletto with a black buckle ankle strap. I originally bought them from DSW a while ago, but the HerStyle Charming stiletto from Shoe Land achieves the same idea! Lastly, my Stella McCartney black leather shoulder bag is my go-to for any type of night. It adds a settle, yet noticeable accessory which brings everything together.

These next four outfits are some I wore to different occasions, but didn’t get enough pictures. The first one consists of this satin red wrap top from Princess Polly that comes as a long “scarf” which allows you to tie it in any way you please. To make it more casual, I paired it with the Agolde 90’s loose jean in Fall Out which has a distressed looked and relaxed/boyfriend fit. For a white out event, my friend and I wore two different styles, one with jeans and one with a dress. As for mine, I’m wearing Agolde’s white Remy jean – a perfect straight leg with a raw hem – and this white, cropped, outlined top from Bird Bee. Attached to my jeans is a black Louis Vuitton wallet. Its compact size allows it to fit in any pocket, but with the perfect key chain, it can link on to any jean, bag, etc. My friend is wearing a white, scoop neck, bodycon dress from Princess Polly and the classic white Nike Airforce 1’s.

Now, what would a Fort Lauderdale post be without a quick beach pic? A must-have at every beach is a hat to protect yourself from the sun: this blue, tie-dye bucket hat is from Urban Outfitters and it’s made out of a comfortable cloth fabric that comes in many different colors! I love love love this light pink mini Fjallraven Kanken as the material is perfect for the beach (works very well against sand) and fits a lot more than you can imagine. This next outfit is a bit more edgy with the darker tones. The Nasty Gal snakeskin crop top I’m wearing is unfortunately sold out, however, their snakeskin tie front bodysuit is very close. Another one of my favorite Agolde jeans are these Lana Mid Rise Straight in Disorder. It’s a very flattering fit with a great hem: not too wide, not too skinny! Once again, I’m wearing my Zara boots along with the Stella McCartney bag and as the last touch, I added a gold chain necklace from Princess Polly – it matches very nicely with the shoulder chain on the McCartney bag.

Finally, my friends and I spent a day in the Miami Design District and it was the most amazing experience! We started off with a late lunch at Swan – I got the delicious margarita pizza with a side of fries and my friend got a caesar salad that was prepared right in front her! The waiter cut it up into small pieces and poured the dressing on top as we all watched haha! We began to explore the area and around every corner were the top designer stores, each with its own unique architecture. It was a little chilly that day, so our outfits stayed on the more casual side as I’m wearing the same Agolde jeans in Disorder mentioned above, an oversized black zip up from Somewhere in L.A, and my friend’s Alexander McQueen sneakers 😉

Around the World: Singapore

Singapore: a place of beauty and curiosity. This was my first time visiting a country in Asia, and let me tell you, I’m so grateful Singapore gave me my first experience! Here, I’ll go through the must-see attractions, my travel experience, and share some videos from this trip!

As I stayed in Singapore for two weeks, selecting the right hotel was at the top of my list: The Ritz Carlton in Marina Bay. This was one of the most beautiful hotels I have ever stayed in! First, the location was perfect; it was just a simple walk through the helicopter bridge and we were at the Marina Bay Sands. I highly recommend walking as much as you can as there is so much to see! Upon entry and everyday moving forward, the staff members were always so delightful and helpful. With a smile on their face, they really made me feel at home. Our room was facing the opposite way of the Marina Bay, but still had a spectacular view. It was extremely spacious with two twin-sized beds, a formal seating area, and a large desk! Further, the bathroom had a marble sink, a large shower, and a tub facing the view. The window was this interesting hexagon shape that gave the bathroom so much natural light and a unique aspect to it. This hotel also had a great selection of dessert options at the bakery and the breakfast was just amazing. There were a variety of foods to choose from! I wish I took some pictures in their beautiful dining room and kitchen!

Now, this country may be small, but there is SO much to see and do! Beginning with the grand Marina Bay Sands, this hotel is an attraction in itself. Not only is it a hotel, but there is an amazing mall attached to it. Although, this isn’t your average shopping mall: there was a small river with a boat that people could ride on, a high-end food court, and the stores were all designer. Louis Vuitton had its own shop just outside of the mall, but you enter through the mall and go under water; it’s very hard to explain – it was like it’s own island 🙂 There were plenty of restaurant options throughout the mall as well. My favorite was this Italian restaurant (I don’t remember the name) that was on the second level, closer to the food court side. I sat at the pizza bar and was able to watch all the tasty pizzas being made. I ordered their margarita pizza and it was the best margarita pizza I’ve ever had, by far. I would solely go back to Singapore just for that pizza!! This hotel also has a great rooftop look-out. One end of it is open to the public which has a viewing deck and a restaurant. You could basically see a 360 degree view – one view is the city and the other is parks and the domes. If you’re a hotel guest, you can enjoy their huge infinity pool!

Just outside of the hotel, there is the famous Supertree Grove. This one of a kind park is known for its magical spirit. At night the trees “perform” a show: there would be music playing and the tree lights would turn on in correspondence to it! Next to the Grove, there is the Cloud Forest and Flower Dome. Both feature an extravagant nature set up full of waterfalls, flowers, and greenery! Further, the amazing Arts and Science Museum focused abstract pieces and and an intricate walk-through of shimmering lights. All of these are must-see destinations!

Away from this common area, there is still so much more to see! Fort Canning is a beautiful park in the center of Singapore’s busy city. It’s only a few steps in and you’re transported to a gorgeous area full of nature and peace. Now, Clarke Quay is probably one of the most colorful places I’ve ever seen! It lights up at night with colorful lights and is filled with many restaurants to choose from. This is a place to go on a Friday or Saturday and have some fun with friends or family! In another part of town, Haji Lane is a simple street full of small boutiques and large murals on every corner. You’ll definitely find the more local side of Singapore here. Further. Peranakan houses are one of the most “instagramable” spots in Singapore. There are houses on both sides of the streets so it’s easy to take pictures with no one in them! Sentosa is also a very high attraction outside of the city. It’s perfect for younger kids who love to play on the beach or go on some roller coasters, as it’s just a walk away from Universal Singapore!

If you’re looking for a vacation full of culture, adventure, and exploration, I highly recommend visiting Singapore – you won’t be disappointed 🙂

An Outfit Dump

Here we are, another exciting fashion post! These are a collection of outfits I’ve worn over the past month and they’re my absolute favorites! Now that it’s getting cold outside, I had to share some go-to Fall looks as well:

This first one is definitely not cold weather material, but who knew sets would be this amazing!? This tan set is from I. Am. Gia. and wow! Sets make it extremely easy to just throw something on, but it still looks like you tried haha! I’m obsessed with how simple, yet eye-catching this outfit is. With this stretchy and soft fabric, I’m able to wear this for a long time and still feel comfortable. I never wanted to take this off! Along with that, I wore these black, block heel boots from Zara. Again, also very comfortable, but you can wear this with sneakers, slides, cute sandals, etc. To wear it in colder weather, put on an oversized jean jacket, black boots, and a cozy scarf!

This next look is probably one of my favorites EVER! I recently got these Agolde Criss-Cross jeans from Aritzia and they’re one of the best items I’ve purchased. The material isn’t as stiff as I thought they would be, the denim fabric is stretchy and very nice to wear. I don’t feel as “stuck” in these jeans if you know what I mean. Moving on to shoes, clearly wearing my faves: black, platform Dr. Martens. Ok, but my tank top… the most enjoyable piece of clothing! I’m wearing the Cotton Rib Tank in black from SKIMS. This soft, thin fabric really makes it feel like you don’t have anything on! Completing this outfit, I’ve added my Stella McCartney Shoulder Bag that you all have seen before. It may look small, but it holds a lot. This was a cold day so a quick zip up easily made it perfect to wear outside.

For a fun evening downtown, I decided to wear a chic, edgy black and white outfit. To create a dark, double denim look, I wore these straight leg, ankle flare jeans from Topshop and put on this cropped denim jacket with blue accents from Urban Outfitters. This white, outlined, crop top is from Bird Bee – a local store downtown. This material was pretty thick and I loved the added details. It seems that Dr. Martens are making an appearance in most of my looks, but how could they not?! They’re perfect for this season (and all of them for that matter)!

For this outfit, I wanted to emphasize streetwear, but make it cozy. Another great jean is this one from the Kith x Ksubi line. The wide leg, distressed pant added this unique style which was perfect for the relaxed look I was going for. On top, I wore this oversized, black sweatshirt from MadHappy. This brand is amazing across the board – their clothing is great quality, designs are original, and they’re overall goal is bettering mental health and creating an open platform to spread awareness for many topics. And yes, you’re seeing my “one of a kind” Dr. Martens once again 🙂

Let’s bring out the flannels! An obvious must-have for the Fall season is flannels and I’m loving this neutral colored on (of course) from H&M. For jeans, I’m wearing some skinny, light washed ones from American Eagle. Also wearing my classic black Dr. Martens, which got extremely dirty, but that’s okay! My black, Balenciaga bag tied this whole outfit together along with some layering necklaces. To easily style it, I tucked in half of the front side of my flannel and didn’t button up all the way to give it that “laid-back” look.

Wear a Mask! (But Make it Fashion)

Unfortunately, things really took a turn in 2020. Covid-19 created a whole new way of life for people around the world. One big change we all had to make is wearing a mask. As mandated by the CDC, masks should be worn at all times (apart from being at home or with family). They have become an everyday item that we can’t forget about, so I wanted to share my top 3 favorite brands for masks that have become my staple pieces.

Beginning with Adidas, these lightweight, comfortable masks are great for the outdoors and working out. The breathable material allows you to stay active, while being safe. It comes in two colors, black and blue, and in a pack of 3. I prefer the black one because it’s easier to pair with any outfit. The slogan for this product is “Wash. Dry. Reuse.” After using it for the past few months, you can definitely guess that I’ve washed it hundreds of times. Luckily, the fabric stays just as flexible and soft as if it was brand new.

To add some color, the 8 Other Reasons face masks are perfect! They come in 3 colored mask sets – 1) cream, tan, and green, 2) blue, pink, and black, 3) peach, yellow, and teal. Pick the one that will go best with your daily looks! This mask is wonderful for warmer places because the fabric is super thin. It doesn’t even feel like you’re wearing one (which is what we’re going for)!

Alright, let’s put some patterns into this! I think having a patterned mask can instantly change the entire vibe of your look. If you’re wearing a plain/simple outfit, why not make the mask the star of the show?! These Kitsch cotton ones come in black, dark leopard, and light leopard print. Leopard print has made it’s come back in the fashion world, so it’s time to add these masks to your wardrobe! I love wearing them during a night out with friends or brunch with family because those are easily the main events I dress up for haha! And they surprisingly go with a lot of casual outfits as well 🙂

My Skincare + Makeup Routine

Throughout the years, my skincare and makeup routine have changed tremendously. Since a young age, I always loved playing around with makeup and finding what I like. I’ve never been into full glam, so my everyday makeup is very light and natural. But, before I apply concealer, blush, mascara, etc, I always start with my quick skincare routine!

As soon as I get out of bed, I like to splash cold water on my face to truly wake me up. Then, I brush my teeth, floss, you know… the basics. The first step of my skincare is to use the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water. I dab a couple drops onto a cotton pad and wipe it all over my face. This product is wonderful for sensitive skin! It’s a perfect cleanser and great way to get rid of dirt and small bits of makeup that may have stuck from the previous day. After applied, it leaves your face clean and refreshed to take on the day or even heading to bed. Next, I use the Cetaphil Daily Hydrating Lotion as my face moisturizer. Guys, this lotion is amazing!! My skin stays smooth and hydrated for hours! It’s super lightweight and is perfect for dry skin (which is what I have). Plus, it’s formulated with hyaluronic acid and is great for travel since it comes in a small bottle. All you need to do is grab ‘n’ go! On top of that, I apply the Avalon Organics Facial Serum with Vitamin C. This product is a MUST-HAVE. Because of this serum, my skin looks more radiant and bright throughout the day. It’s a lovely overlay with the moisturizer. Then, I grab my skin roller (highly recommend) and just roll it upon my face. This is a great way to really let the products soak into your skin and give your face a quick massage before you go about your day.

Let’s move on to makeup! Starting with face, I first rub in the Glossier Priming Moisturizer. It’s light and dewy texture make it wonderful for a base and very buildable without feeling overbearing. Next up, I use the Smashbox Flawless 24 Hour Concealer in the color Light Medium Cool. I swear by this product! I’ve been using it for the past year or so and it actually looks like my natural skin. When I ask my mom or friends if they see it, they always say “No, I didn’t even know you had any on.” How awesome is that?! I only apply it under my eyes to get rid of dark circles and on pimples when I have them. To smooth it nicely, I use the BareMinerals Blurring Buffer Brush or a typical beauty blender. I prefer the brush because it always comes out as a clean finish without any splotches. My favorite blush is the Glossier Cloud Paint in the color Dusk (very nude). I put a little on my cheeks and dab in an upwards motion, following my cheekbones, and then go over my nose for an almost “sun-kissed” look.

Shop Mentioned Products:

As for the eyes, I like to start with eyebrows. Recently, I’ve been using the Glossier Boy Brow in the color Brown. It’s basically an eyebrow gel with a faint tint and it also comes in Black, Blonde, or Clear. I prefer an extra touch of color because not only does it shape your eyebrows, but it also fills them in as you go! Two steps in one! Although, for the longest time I used (sometimes still use) the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Powder in the shade Dark Brown. To apply this, I love their Brow Brush tool: specifically number 12. This powder is awesome if you want to completely shade in your brows for an even bolder or more defined look. To hold it in place, I would use the Anastasia Clear Brow Gel. Before putting on mascara, I recommend curling your eyelashes. This creates more length and shape to your lashes and you can buy these anywhere (mine is from Sephora). For a very dainty and simple mascara, I love the Glossier Lash Slick. It’s perfect when wanting to add a tiny-bit of volume to your lashes, while also avoiding clumping and keeping that natural appearance.

Now, for the very last step, lips! I have a couple of favorites when it comes to my go-to lip product, but before anything, I apply the Aquaphor Lip Balm. This is a great base because it’ll keep your lips soft and moisturized. The first product I want to mention is the Maybelline Baby Lips Tinted Lip Balm. I have it in the color Cherry Me which adds a noticeable, yet settle, red tint to your lip, while keeping them hydrated. To mix it up, I also love the Sugar Lip Balm by Fresh. The color I use is Petal and it comes with SPF 15! Lastly, I may apply the Bobbi Brown Extra Lip Tint in Bare Pink. It’s a very soft pink, but it adds a nice shimmer to your lips if that’s what you’d prefer!

Around the World: Paris

Back in December of 2019, I went to Paris, France for 24 hours. My amazing uncles surprised me with this day trip for my 17th birthday! From all of the places that I have been, Paris is (by far) my favorite. This was my second time in the beautiful city and the architecture, people, and environment have always made me feel at home in an odd way 🙂 I could go on and on about my love for this city, but I wanted to share how to get the full Paris experience in only a couple of hours! We’ll talk about transportation, attractions, food, and of course, fashion!

Let’s begin with transportation: My uncles live in London, England, so taking the train was the most practical option. We used Eurostar and left around 8am. The train ride was fast and smooth. Luckily, the seats were wide and comfortable since it took about two hours to get there. Plus, the tables came with accessible outlets to charge electronics and plenty of room to store your belongings! When we arrived in Paris, our main way of getting around was either walking or using scooters. During this time, most of the metro workers were on strike, so only a few trains were functioning. Fortunately, we improvised and decided to take a Bird or Lime scooter! On the negative side, it was a bit cold and windy (around 40 degrees Fahrenheit), so our hands and face were freezing while riding, but we made the best of it and it was such a fun experience! We were able to see hidden streets and beautiful buildings that we wouldn’t have seen if we transported underground. Truly, it felt like I was living in a movie! I did wish it was a little warmer though haha!

Now, where do I even start with attractions! If you’re only going for a day or even a weekend, I would pick a couple of your most-wanted places to visit. On this trip, our first stop was the Sacré Coeur Basilica. It’s at the highest point in Paris, so the views are spectacular! You can see the entire city skyline! It would probably be magnificent to see the sunrise or sunset there. Not only that, there is a beautiful town right beside the basilica! There are many small boutiques, restaurants, and bakeries with every step you take. Also, the cobblestone ground brings the whole place together. My favorite part was passing a local who was playing the accordion! The music in the background was just beautiful and created a perfect moment. We took a quick stroll through the area, had some lunch in a quaint Italian restaurant, and then hopped on a scooter to head to Champs-Élysées and the Arc de Triomphe. On our way there, we passed the iconic Moulin Rouge!

Once we zoomed through the city, we made it to Place Charles de Gaulle. The Arc de Triomphe is right in the center. We walked around the large circle, took some amazing pictures, and then went down Champs-Élysées. I was in awe of the amazing Christmas decorations that some stores still had up (especially Dior). The streets were busy with people just as amazed as I was. For a quick break, we stopped for tea and dessert at Ladurée. Their macaroons and earl grey hot tea are fantastic! I usually have the raspberry and lemon flavored macaroons. Afterwards, we went a few blocks towards the Eiffel Tower. We walked along the river and the sun was beginning to set, so the sky was gorgeous. Once we crossed over the bridge, we jumped on some more scooters and rode down to the Hôtel de Ville. Honestly, the cold breeze felt so good and we passed some more famous buildings, such as the Louvre Museum.

To top off the night, we walked through the small town of Le Marais. It’s now one of my favorite spots in Paris. The streets are more compact which gave the town a comfy and cozy feel to it. Not many tourists were there, so you could tell it was a local and authentic area. Boutiques and restaurants surrounded us and we gladly ate dinner in one of the quaint, French places. My uncles and I shared a tasty cheese board!

As for my outfit, I went with a more edgy and chic look. I’m wearing flared, plaid pants from Urban Outfitters, a cropped, black tank top from Kith, a cropped, black jacket from Boohoo, and black, platform booties from Zara (I got these boots the first time I went to Paris!). Also, my earmuffs are from Ugg Australia. I loved having my hair in a top bun because it was always out of my face (especially riding the scooters) and it highlighted my jacket and earmuffs more!

All in all, this trip was unforgettable! In just one day, I was able to experience so many different parts of Paris. One of the best memories I’ll take away from this will be riding the scooters through the city. I would love to do that in the Summer one day! I’m beyond grateful for my time there and I would, very much, suggest visiting… even for just 24 hours 🙂

Hello from Quarantine!

Well, this is it… My first blog post! I’m so excited to express my love for fashion on my very own platform! To start this new journey, I wanted to share one fun activity I’ve been loving to do in quarantine: playing dress up. I know, it sounds childish, but it’s a good time, trust me! While listening to music, I would go through all of my clothes and put together so many different outfits. Sometimes, I may organize my closet/dresser or make a donation pile to be more productive and get things done! Here are some of my favorite looks:

Alright, so look number one. Up above, I went for more of a casual, street look. You can never go wrong with some Levi’s and Converse. I’ve had my black Converse since 7th grade and they never go out of style. They’re the high-top Chuck Taylor All Stars; one of my best purchases! The Levi’s I’m wearing are the dark wash, 501 Athens, straight-leg jean. I love how they almost have a loose fit at the bottom, but are somewhat tight at the top. Also, the settle rips give it that distressed look, which is always a go-to for me. As for the top, I’m wearing a black, ribbed crop top with a high, round neck from Zara. This is a basic, must-have item that should be in your closet. This top can be styled in many different ways and it worked out perfectly for this urban look. To tie an outfit together, a simple belt can go a long way. With this faux leather belt from Aritzia, I was able to keep the color black as a common theme and draw more attention to the jeans. This is definitely a great look for a shopping day downtown, brunch with friends, and much more during the warm weather seasons!

For look number two, I’m wearing a hip, yet chic, simple outfit. Last year, I found a love for cargo pants! They have been in style for a while, but once I saw this perfect pair, I knew it was meant to be! These lightweight, nude color, cargo joggers are from Zara. They’re high-waisted, but come with a fabric tie to accentuate your waist. The large front, side, and back pockets give the pants so much extra room for chapstick, sunglasses, and other little things! The sneakers are probably my favorite part of this look! I haven’t seen heeled sneakers in a long time, so I’ve decided to bring them back 🙂 These wedged, black, high-top sneakers are from DKNY. They’re about 3.5 inches tall and have shiny detailing at the back of the ankle and toe of the shoe. Lastly, this black, cropped, corset tank top is from Joah Brown. I have recently discovered this brand and it’s, by far, one of my favorites! The material of this top (and all of their products) is extremely soft and a bit stretchy, so it fits your body perfectly. It’s a great piece to dress up and have that flattering, clean look.

Last, but not least, is outfit number three. I’m obsessed with athleisure wear, so I had to make a look with this style. Biker shorts became a huge trend last Summer and to be completely honest, I wasn’t totally on board at first. However, I finally gave it a shot and fell in love with the look! I found this great pair from Terez; they’re mid-rise and 3 inches in length. The black star design adds a pop to the pant, while still being settle. As for the shirt, this light yellow, cropped, crew neck is from Free People. It’s perfect to throw on over a tank top or wear with a jean or leather jacket. At the collar and end of the sleeves, there are a couple of holes (made on purpose) to show that distressed and relaxed style. Also, I love styling jewelry with comfier looks. Keeping a theme of gold-tone hardware, the hoop earrings are from Nordstrom, the dainty ring is from Pandora, and the round sunglasses are from, the one and only, Ray-Ban. These shoes are the classic, triple white, Yeezy 350 sneakers. Another one of the best sneakers! The first time I wore them, it felt like walking on actual clouds! The padding is so soft and comfortable! Yeezy’s are great shoes to do floor workouts or take long walks in and they look amazing with a pair of cropped jeans (straight or skinny)!
